A poem for the month - October 2013

For Marty

Two nights in the slammer and so I thought you might

Be a little chastened, look a tad contrite

But not a hint of sorry, not a sign of guilt

Well I'm pleased those little fascists didn't make your spirit wilt

Do you still recall the feeling, when running like the wind

The world dissolved around you, and time was left behind?

When life became one moment, and sand and sun and sea

Were one, and you a part of it, young, alive and free

(Dedicated to the KCDC animal control officers.)
