A poem for the month - July

Whispers

Elephants sometimes talk to each other

with low rumbles – so low they are inaudible

to the human ear

Whales communicate across vast expanses

of ocean – their cries travelling kilometres

beneath the waves

Trees send out a warning if they are attacked

A message to the other trees – a silent alarm

spreading through the forest

Whispering that we never hear – “Beware, the humans are coming!”
