A poem for March 2015

Sunset, Paekakariki – 17 Feb 2015

The sun has gone,

but before in went, it paused

and caste away its palette.

Splashed sea, land, and sky

with yellow, red, and flaming orange,

then added a fine plating of gold.

The wind holds its breathe in admiration,

unwilling to break the spell,

and the colours set in the still, warm air.
